SERVICES:
- C.A.R.E. (Caring Assistance with Resourceful Experience) – Volunteers are trained to evaluate day-care homes and to provide assistance, guidance, and training so the homes can achieve certification.
- Call-A-Ride – This program uses volunteer drivers to transport the elderly or disabled (who have no other means of transportation) to medically related appointments.
- Foster Grandparent Program – Program has a dual focus. 1. A one-on-one assistance to children with special needs and children-at-risk age 21 and under. 2. Children benefit from the individual assistance and learn to bond with an adult who brings a lifetime of experience and love to the relationship.
- Lunch Buddies – Is mentoring program designed to reach at-risk elementary school-age children, who have been identified by school personnel as needing additional stable force in their lives. The overall intent of Lunch Buddies is to provide a consistently positive and caring mentor to a child in need, no matter the reason.
- Respite Care – The Respite volunteers provide a time of relief on a weekly basis to the primary caregiver of an elderly, infirm person.
- Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Is a community of retired seniors committed to volunteering in the many community services in our area.
- Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) – Is a program that can help Medicare beneficiaries make better health insurance decisions; provide confidential, uniform, and objective health assistance; identify gaps in insurance laws and regulations, and communicate those problems to policy makers, and support and recognize the efforts of volunteers.
- TransMed – Is a medical transportation program primarily for child Medicaid clients. These children, who are referred by their caseworker, receive door-to-door transportation service from volunteer drivers.
